The Works
The refurbishment saw several key upgrades aimed at enhancing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space. This includes an overhaul of the flooring and the introduction of black ceilings in the corridors to impart a modern and sophisticated ambience. To infuse a touch of greenery, plant boxes have been strategically placed along the corridor walls. Furthermore, a new glass door opening in the corridor, adds a contemporary flair to the design, contributing to an overall revitalised and inviting atmosphere.
Additionally, attention has been given to the decor, with fresh touches to enliven the surroundings. Upgraded lighting fixtures illuminate the area, while the installation of automated blinds offers both privacy and light control.
Bespoke media walls and a smart hub wall have been set up, allowing the control of lighting, an intercom system, and the blinds. Additionally, loose furniture including desks and seating has been installed.
Factors
Working at the live college involved conducting strip-outs and managing deliveries, often scheduled for early mornings and late afternoons whenever feasible to minimise disruption to the area.
