The Works
The refurbishment of suites 1-8, designated for housing office staff of the NHS, involved various upgrades. This encompassed the creation of break-out spaces, installation of new flooring, decoration, ceilings, and LED lighting, as well as the addition of blinds.
In certain suites, Glazed partitions were introduced to establish a separate mess area while maintaining an open office atmosphere. Electrical and data systems were repositioned to optimise energy efficiency within the new layout.
Suite 3 saw the installation of a kitchen tailored for the mess room, featuring white rock surfaces, a stainless steel sink, and a functional worktop.
Factors
To maintain a live working environment, operations commenced earlier in the morning to minimise disruption, with equipment and waste also being relocated either at the beginning or the end of the day. Additionally, an alternative fire exit, distant from the main entrance, was utilised to avoid disturbing regular foot traffic.
Outcome
Each individual room was completed ahead of schedule in order to allow for furniture to be moved back and ready for the staff to move back in.
