Together, they are pooling their resources, energy, and determination to make a significant impact on their community.
The team aim to generate £100,000 in 2024 for three vital local charities: Daffodils Dreams, The Brick, and Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
Team Wigan & Leigh - The National 3 Peaks
In a distinguished display of community spirit and collaboration, Team Wigan & Leigh geared up to tackle the National 3 Peaks Challenge with the ambitious goal of raising £50,000 for Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
The National 3 Peaks Challenge was one of the most demanding tests for Team Wigan & Leigh. This challenge involved climbing the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike), and Wales (Snowdon) within 24 hours. It undoubtedly pushed the mental and physical limits of all participants, but the team was motivated by their shared goal of supporting the hospice and other local charities. Apart from one injury, all members completed the challenge within 24hour time limit!
Jo Carby says: We are immensely grateful to see members of our community come together to take on such an incredible challenge on behalf of Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
This support will make such a huge difference to the hospice and to all the people across Wigan and Leigh who are supported by our services. It is fundraising efforts such as this that allows us to continue to care for over 1,200 patients and their loved ones each year.
I wish all of the walkers the very best of luck on their adventure."

Haigh Hall Hike
Supporters of Daffodil Dreams gathered at The Cherry Gardens to participate in a hike through Haigh Woodland Park, the home of the historic Haigh Hall. The event aimed to raise much-needed funds for the organisation, and the enthusiastic turnout highlighted the community's support.
The day commenced with a welcoming atmosphere, as participants enjoyed a hearty breakfast sandwich, fueling them for the activities ahead. The event featured entertaining games such as tombola and the "Guess the Poodle" game, which brought smiles and laughter to the gathering.
Despite the weather being less than ideal, the spirits of the 72 dedicated walkers were undampened. They set off on a scenic two-hour trek through the lush and sprawling park, appreciating the natural beauty and camaraderie along the way.
Upon completing the walk, the group reconvened to enjoy a sumptuous buffet, offering a variety of delicious options to satisfy their appetites. The post-walk gathering provided another opportunity for participants to try their luck at the games and engage in lively conversations.
The event was deemed a tremendous success raising £1140, with a notable turnout for Daffodil Dreams. Greenmount took great pride in helping organise the event and providing food that kept the walkers energised and happy. The hike through Haigh Woodland Park not only supported a worthy cause but also brought together a diverse group of individuals, united by their commitment to making a positive impact.
