Works Completed

The project team delivered this remodeling and refurbishment of Floor D at Tameside College’s Beaufort Road campus. The project was won under competitive tender and included design development post award.

The college received a modern teaching space across multiple classrooms, with the flexibility to adapt for larger or more intimate classes with a movable partition wall. The cutting edge design of the sample nursery space offered a stunning environment in which to deliver realistic specific courses including, a theory learning space, child play area for practical teaching, kitchenette and a children's WC area.

Factors

The project was undertaken during term time within a live environment, this meant liaising with the college to agree appropriate access and egress along with agreed segregation hoardings. Control of public nuisance such as noise and dust control were paramount to successful and safe delivery of the project. Segregated access and egress routes ensured separation of workforce from third party building users and utilisation of out of hours working were necessary for noisy demolition works ensured minimal impact on the teaching environment.

Outcome

The college were ecstatic with the final result, the project was delivered on time and within budget and the department lead was very excited to take possession of area and could not wait to start he delivery of the curriculum.
